Mario Houde was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Mario obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Montreal, Ecole Polytechnique, in chemical engineering in 1983. Mario also pursued studies in pulp and paper engineering as well as business administration. Later in his career Mario obtained a "corporate" Master Degree in International Business from his employer.
Mario moved to the United States in 1990 and is now a citizen of the USA as well as Canada and he is fluent in French and English. Mario is married and has two children.
Mario Houde worked in various technical functions related to manufacturing plants until 1996. During those years Mario acquired expertise in process and project engineering, production and maintenance. Mario has experience working in plants that handle various kinds of processes such as inorganic and organic chemistry.
In 1996 Mario Houde formally moved to a business function and handled a technology licensing business for a period that lasted over three years. Mario gradually moved into other managerial functions over the years getting involved with sales and marketing, procurement, technology, manufacturing, integrated supply chain, research & development and innovation, safety and health, etc. Many of the various businesses Mario was responsible for were spread globally and ranged from about $10 M to over $1 B in sales with asset value exceeding $2 B.
Throughout his career Mario Houde worked for six different large international companies and was involved in managing joint ventures in three different regions of the world.
In 2015 Mario retired from his long term employer and started his consulting firm.
